Still Waiting…
We are still here at Providence in room 564. We are waiting for a response from Denali Center, with no updates as of yet. Even though we are very excited for him to be closer to the entire family, we are glad to be here at Providence.
He is still in the sand bed; his pressure sore is healing and doing much better than before. Tomorrow, the 24th, marks one month for the trach change. I’m very glad that we are able to get that changed here at Providence, versus Denali Center having to do it right as we get there. Today, my dad had a visit from OT. They were able to get him o tomorrow's of his bed and into the recliner for a little. I’m sure he enjoyed every moment of that! He did a great job holding his head up on his own throughout the process. If we are still here tomorrow and all goes well, they want to try getting him into a wheelchair and take him around. Depending on how long he of able to tolerate that, hopefully we can make it outside to the Healing Garden for him to enjoy the sunshine. I’ve been telling him all about it and showing him photos and videos, so it would be very nice for him to experience it himself! As of right now, we continue to take it one day at a time.

Last night I was able to get out and spend some much needed time getting some fresh air at Point Woronzof. Thank you to everyone who make it possible for me to step away so I can relax and refresh, knowing my dad is in the best hands. Also, thank you to those who have suggested places for me to go, such as Point Woronzof, to get some fresh air and recuperate. Let me know if any of you have any more suggestions of places for me to visit while I’m in town, I’d love to hear!
