From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

We want to express our deep gratitude towards all of the doctors, surgeons, nurses, respiratory technicians, patient care technicians, assistants, turn teams, physical therapists, occupational therapists, case managers, palliative nurse, social workers, lab technicians, chaplains and everyone else who have been a part of our dad’s care team. We appreciate every single one of you and the level of care you have provided him during such a critical time in his life. We are grateful for your professionalism, attentiveness and genuine care, even when we are not present. Knowing that he is in good hands has allowed our family to have one less thing to worry about during such a challenging time. Even though every bed and room was occupied, you all made us feel like we were the only ones there. Thank you for providing such personal care with the way you treated our dad and our family as well. Thank you for being so understanding and gentle with us and even offering hugs and a shoulder to cry on; it meant more than you'll ever know.

You are true angels and heroes; it takes an incredibly special person to do what you do. Thank you for your years of dedication and perseverance. Providence Alaska Medical Center would not be the same without you!

As many of you have asked and know, our dad is a beekeeper. This has been something that he has enjoyed doing for many years.

As a token of our gratitude, we would like to share a little bit of the honey with you.

This honey is from the beautiful fields flooded with fireweed (which explains the light color) in our hometown, Delta Junction. It is definitely our favorite and hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

As I have mentioned to some of you before, our dad has a wonderful sense of humor and is the world's greatest storyteller.

I know for sure he would lighten up the room and put a smile on your face if he had the opportunity to talk to you.

As you have seen the difference regarding his facial hair, yes, he was always clean shaven before. When he was initially hospitalized for pneumonia, during conversations with some of the sisters, he told them that he would grow out his beard just this one time. That’s the lovely backstory to the facial hair you see today.
