Life in Boise
I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to post an update. It’s been extremely difficult since moving here. There are so many things that I’m trying to worked out. I’ve been spending all of my energy mostly on the care for my dad (I'll share some more later) and then trying to get some rest so that I don’t burn out.
My dad is currently stable. He was recently sent over to St. Alphonsus Hospital because the doctor thought he was having a heart attack. The j-point on his EKG was slightly elevated (I’m guessing since it was taken directly after woundcare and turning), which prompted the hospitalization. Thankfully, the EKGs in the ambulance and at the ER came back clear and all of the testing done in the Cardiac ICU showed no sign of a heart attack. It was the quietest (regarding volume) room he has been in since his hospitalization, so he was able to get lots and lots of rest. I spent most of the weekend away catching up on rest and sleep as well, knowing he was getting the best care.
That was just a recent major event that had happened. Otherwise, he is stable and okay, back at Cascadia of Boise.
Once I get some more time and energy (both physically and mentally), I’ll post some more specifics on how he is doing, as well as his care and our experience here at Cascadia of Boise.
Due to he pace of environment being much slower here, than back at Providence, I’ve had much more time to process the weight of the situation. There are good days and then extremely difficult days. It’s been tough being in a new place where I don’t know anyone and don’t have that support like I did back at home, though I’m getting through it one day at a time. This would explain why I haven't posted anything yet.
Till next time!
